PERIODICAL ACTIVITIES

There are several activities that are organised on a regular basis; e.g. The Literary Circle and the “Let’s Talk About It” Conferences (Parlem-ne). More activities will be advertised as they are organised.

THE LITERARY CIRCLE

The Barcelona-Centre Church began the Literary Circle in May 2005 for people who enjoy reading and wish to freely share their ideas and opinions on a given title.

- WHAT IS OUR AIM?

* Enjoyment. Making the solitary pleasure of reading greater when shared.

* Share ideas, thoughts and points of view from the reading of a chosen book.

* Become mutually enriched when sharing each others’ experiences.

- WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

EVERYONE: From the young to the old and all those who love reading.

- HOW IT WORKS?

* What kind of book? A variety of books are chosen: novels, poetry, drama etc. and on a variety of subjects e.g. social, historical, religious etc.

* Who chooses the book? Those who make up the reading group propose different books titles and a decision is made by all the group.

* How often do they meet? On Saturday evening every month.

- HOW TO OBTAIN THE BOOK?

The book can be bought in the Church book shop or it can be requested from your local library.

“LET’S TALK ABOUT IT” CONFERENCES

Another activity organised in the Church are conferences about a certain subject or area that is of general interest or about something that worries the community. The conferences are followed with a question-and-answer session where people are able to share their opinions. The conferences are organised every three months and there are four every year. Just like The Literacy Circle, the conferences are on a Saturday evening open to all and there is always a small buffet afterwards. To date, two conferences have taken place:
